Kaizer Chiefs could lose Samir Nurkovic to Royal AM as per media reports even though his agent Dajan Simac vehemently denied the reports.

Now, the question on almost everyone’s lips is whether or not Chiefs did/are doing enough to secure the services of Nurkovic for the upcoming season.

After all, Chiefs have an option to renew Nurkovic’s contract for another year, and this despite his push for a move away from Naturena in 2020.

NURKOVIC WAS SLOWLY BECOMING A LIABILITY TO KAIZER CHIEFS

For someone who wanted to leave Chiefs two seasons ago, this was always expected – wanting to leave for greener pastures.

But the truth of the matter is that Nurkovic was slowly becoming more of a liability to Chiefs than the asset he was in his first season.

Injuries became the order of the day for Nurkovic while his form also dipped as he struggled to score goals on a regular basis for Chiefs.

Samir Nurkovic is making headlines after reports of him leaving Kaizer Chiefs for Royal AM surfaced.

Who can forget Nurkovic’s first season at Chiefs where he scored 14 goals in 31 competitive matches? Almost everyone expected him to do better the next season.

However, he could only manage six goals in 32 appearances during the 2020-21 season, and this was the beginning of his dip in form.

Injury-prone Nurkovic has, so far, contributed a single goal in 15 games – another factor Chiefs would consider when deciding his future.

For a player of Nurkovic’s calibre, these numbers are not good at all – and Chiefs won’t regret losing him even if he were to sign for Royal AM.

Nurkovic’s heart is clearly no longer at Chiefs, and the club cannot keep him against his will – his dip in form has everything to do with the fact that he wanted to go a long time ago.
