Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic has sent a message to Amakhosi fans after being voted the recipient of the DStv Premiership Goal of the Month award.

Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic has sent a message to Amakhosi fans after being voted the recipient of the most recent DStv Premiership Goal of the Month award.

Nurkovic, 28, has failed to replicate his form from his debut season in 2019/20 when he netted 13 league goals in 26 league outings as Kaizer Chiefs agonisingly finished as league runners-up to Mamelodi Sundowns.
This campaign the Serbian star has found the back of the net on just two occasions in 19 league matches.

One of those goals – his spectacular overhead bicycle kick in the Soweto derby as Kaizer Chiefs beat Orlando Pirates 1-0 in March – has netted him the Goal of the Month award.

“I want to thank [Kaizer Chiefs fans] for voting for my goal for the best goal of the month,” Nurkovic told the club’s media department.
“It’s a very special goal for me because I scored in the special game, the Soweto derby. I’m happy to have contributed to that game and for the victory, Amakhosi for life.”
