Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic could make an early return to competitive football following his return to training.

Nurkovic has been out since October 2021 when the medical team advised him to do surgery on his injured knee.

He was initially expected to be out for two months but the extent of his injury was at the time not made public.

Two weeks ago, Nurkovic confirmed that he was busy with his rehabilitation, and that the doctors said he still had nine more weeks to spend on the sidelines before he could make his full return.

While Nurkovic still hasn’t completed his nine-week long rehabilitation programme, he appears to be working hard to get back into shape.

The Serbian striker is currently in camp with the rest of his Chiefs teammates in preparation for the second half of the season.

What’s encouraging is that he can now kick the ball and he’s involved in training – but the Chiefs medical and technical teams are surely keeping an eye on him to ensure that he doesn’t injure himself.
