Samir Nurkovic set a number of records for Kaizer Chiefs with his acrobatic overhead-kick winning goal against Orlando Pirates in the 100th Soweto derby at the FNB Stadium on Sunday.

The 28-year-old scored the only goal of the match with what was only his second goal of the 2020/21 DStv Premiership season.

With his strike Samir Nurkovic became the first player born in Europe – or Serbia – to score in a Soweto league derby for Kaizer Chiefs.

In addition, he became the 77th different player to score for Amakhosi in an official league Soweto derby.

Finally, his goal was the 50th scored by Kaizer Chiefs against Orlando Pirates in a league match in the PSL-era (from 1996/97).
