DStv Premiership strugglers Marumo Gallants may have more issues to deal with in the near-future after former coach Sebastien Migne has reportedly threatened to take legal action against the club after approaching FIFA.

According to media reports, Migne was fired after a disciplinary committee hearing where he was accused of using abusive language towards technical director Harris Choeu at OR Tambo Airport when travelling to play Golden Arrows a fortnight ago.

Marumo Gallants appointed Raymond Mdaka as their interim coach.

According to the Kickoff website, Migne confirmed that he may take legal action over his dismissal.

“The real story is that Marumo is an extremely difficult club to work, and you spend most of the time frustrated,” Migne said.

“At that club, you don’t need a coach, you need a magician because there is too much interference.

“The technical director Harris Choeu is just afraid to lose his job and just goes with whatever the chairman says, he is not there to stand with the coaches but rather be against them,” says Migne.

“The day when the incident that I was fired for happened we trained in Polokwane at 08:00 in the morning and then left for OR Tambo at 10:00 and then we arrived around 14:00 Choeu needed to arrange lunch, but he told me it is only for the players and not the technical staff.

“At that moment it was completely unacceptable for me because you cannot divide the team. It is true that I then had some bad words with him, but it was only in the presence of me, Choeu, assistant coach Mpho Makola and goalkeeper trainer Stephane Ekakala and not in front of the players as they say.

“They then used this incident to avoid paying my salary because the chairman always wants to find a reason not to pay.

“Afterwards, I then tried to find an amicable resolution but it was impossible to discuss with him so I’m obliged to engage an attorney from Johannesburg and if they refuse within seven days, I will go to FIFA even though I don’t want to lose a lot of energy in this because I’m a football coach.

“This is about principle and respecting people,” said Migne who is on his way back home to France.

“It was impossible to work properly with people who have personal interests in some players. To work well you need to be happy and be paid all your salary not half. Marumo didn’t respect us.

“When I left, they even refused to send my ticket and my wife in France had to take care of that. That team is capable of finishing in the top eight but unfortunately, the management is against that progress.

“This is a team with no gym centre for the club, not enough balls, players sacrifice a lot of things for that club. Now I’m thinking of moving forward to a new project because I don’t want to lose my energy thinking about Marumo because they are bad for the image of South African football,” Migne concluded.
