Black Leopards have parted ways with their coach Lehlohonolo Seema, with last week’s 3-0 loss to Orlando Pirates believed to be the last straw according to the latest media reports.

Seema has become the latest coaching casualty in the DStv Premiership with reports doing the rounds that Leopards have fired the former Lesotho International. Lidoda Duvha has endured a ratchet run of results of late, and find themselves rock bottom on the current log standings.

Leopards management seem to have given up on Seema

As things stand, Leopards are five points adrift from a 15th-placed TTM for a playoff spot, while being six points away from safety with three games to go. It now appears that the Limpopo-based efforts have run out of patience with the Seema, and according to FarPost, have decided to relieve the former Bloemfontein Celtic legend and coach of his duties.

The online football publication goes further to state that Seema will be replaced by his current assistants Morgan Shivambu and Mongezi Bobe for Leopard’s remaining games. These reports were fueled even further by the absence of Seema from the Leopards bench for their away fixture in the Eastern Cape against fellow league strugglers Chippa United.

The match highlighted an increasingly desperate looking situation at Leopards, giving off an uninspired performance. It would arguably prove even more frustrating for the clubs’ fan base, as their opponents on the day offered possibly their last remaining realistic opportunity for a crucial three points in the relegation race.

Coachless Leapords running out of fixtures to save themselves

The Thoyandou-based side will now set their sights on a home fixture against an out of sorts Kaizer Chiefs side in two weeks’ time. Chiefs themselves have flattered to deceive under their new coach Gavin Hunt, who himself is a former Leopards coach. Leopards should not be expecting any favours from their former mentor either though, as Chiefs’ race for a top-eight becomes trickier with each passing game, after their 1-1 draw in their Soweto derby fixture against Swallows FC on Wednesday.

Beyond that, Leopards have fixtures against Cape Town City who, themselves are without a head coach at the moment. Their final fixture against Seema’s first club Bloemfontein Celtic could come with their fate already signed, sealed and delivered.
