The breakout star has enjoyed a fine campaign for Masandawana this season, scoring 12 times across all competitions.

In the PSL alone, Mailula has seven goals and three assists in just 11 appearances. He’s been one of the driving forces between the club’s dominance in South Africa this season with his goals, mobility and assists. There have been widespread calls for him to get a Bafana Bafana call-up too, and for good reason.

Mailula’s agent talks on rumours linking him to Europe

“We have had some interest but nothing we can report on at the moment,” Mailula’s agent Karabo Mathang tells KickOff.

“The interest is specifically from France. To be honest we’ve had few enquiries from France. So, the interest is from France, but unfortunately I am not liberty to share the club’s name. That’s because it’s still sensitive [the issue]. So, at the moment that’s all I can say.”

“But the interest is there, and it’s from the Premier division [Ligue 1] in France.

“It seems like his name has popped up at more than one club over there.”

Should the Brazilians be bracing themselves for a big offer from a top-tier French club? It seems that this is a distinct possibility.
