The 32-year-old coach began his stint at Usuthu with a 1-1 draw against Orlando Pirates in a DStv Premiership match last Friday.

Folz believes that the KwaZulu-Natal outfit was impressed by the style of play he displayed during his short stay at Marumo Gallants earlier in this campaign.

FOLZ ON WHY USUTHU APPOINTED HIM

“I think I played good football with Marumo Gallants, and I lost one game out of five,” he told media as quoted by Daily Sun.

“But the way we played I believe it’s the reason AmaZulu management decided to give me the coaching position because my style of football aligns with their vision.”

“I’m someone who believes that you need to give responsibility to people so he is very much capable to do it so why not give him responsibilities to do so,” Folz told SuperSport TV as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“He has an eye for football. He is a very good coach and he is a very good person so I might as well let him have his input on the coaching aspect.

“We’re a team so it’s not the head coach and the players, we’re a staff and I like to delegate things. He is very good at his job and I’m happy to have him with me.”

AmaZulu will play host to Maritzburg United on Wednesday, 19 October before taking on Kaizer Chiefs in their MTN8 semi-final second-leg encounter on Sunday, 23 October.
