Romain Folz heaps praise on Ayanda Dlamini

New AmaZulu head coach Romain Folz says he is happy to have the team’s assistant coach Ayanda Dlamini as his right-hand man.

New AmaZulu head coach Romain Folz says he is happy to have the team’s assistant coach Ayanda Dlamini as his right-hand man.

The 32-year-old tactician started his stint at Usuthu with a 1-1 stalemate against Orlando Pirates in the DStv Premiership on Friday evening at the Orlando Stadium.

The KwaZulu-Natal outfit took the lead in the 35th minute thanks to Sphesihle Maduma who scored from the penalty spot before Kermit Erasmus levelled matters in the 45th minute.

Folz and Dlamini seemed to be getting along as the Frenchman was seen on several occasions consulting ‘Cobra’.

‘HE HAS AN EYE FOR FOOTBALL’ – FOLZ ON DLAMINI

“I’m someone who believes that you need to give responsibility to people so he is very much capable to do it so why not give him responsibilities to do so,” Folz told SuperSport TV as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“He has an eye for football. He is a very good coach and he is a very good person so I might as well let him have his input on the coaching aspect.

“We’re a team so it’s not the head coach and the players, we’re a staff and I like to delegate things. He is very good at his job and I’m happy to have him with me.”

The Durban-based side remained in ninth position in the DStv Premiership table having accumulated 12 points after 10 games.

On Wednesday, 19 October they will play host to Maritzburg United with Folz seeking his first victory before heading to the MTN8 semi-final second leg against Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday, 23 October.
