Richards Bay FC are 90 minutes away from realising their dream of playing in the PSL next season following Sunday’s round of matches.

The Rich Boyz were made to sweat for maximum points at Kabokweni Stadium as they edged out 15th-placed TS Sporting 2-1.

The result moved Richards Bay two points clear of second-placed AmaTuks who dropped two crucial points in the 2-2 draw away to Cape Town Spurs.

As things stand, Richards Bay FC are on 53 points after 29 league games while AmaTuks are on 51 points from the same number of games.

TS Sporting, on the other hand, joined Jomo Cosmos as the two GladAfrica Championship teams who will campaign in the ABC Motsepe League next season.

Should Richards Bay play to a draw away to Spurs and AmaTuks win at home against Hungry Lions, then the title race will go down to goal difference.

Now, AmaTuks will have to win by four clear goals in order to better the +3 goal difference that Richards Bay FC currently hold over them.

Nonetheless, should AmaTuks fail to gain automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership, they will get a second chance via the relegation/promotion play-offs alongside Cape Town All Stars.
