Rhulani Mokwena weighs in on Percy Tau’s Mamelodi Sundowns link

Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rhulani Mokwena has commented on speculation linking Al Ahly forward Percy Tau with a return to the Brazilians.

Talk of Tau’s possible exit from the Club of the Century emerged shortly after the club’s coach Pitso Mosimane left in June.

More recent reports suggested that the former ‘Downs man has parted ways with the Egyptian giants. However, the club has denied these claims.

Meanwhile, as reported by The South African website, Orlando Pirates have reportedly filed an official request to sign Tau on loan while other rumours have linked him with a return to the Tshwane giants.

Masandawana mentor Mokwena has distanced himself from the speculations saying he “doesn’t know much” about the Tau rumours.

‘I DON’T KNOW WHETHER HE’S UNSETTLED’ – MOKWENA ON PERCY TAU

“I don’t know much about Percy Tau being unsettled,” Mokwena said as quoted by TimesLIVE.

“He is an incredible human being, top kid and very good football player. I don’t know whether he is unsettled, so I can’t speak about him because I don’t think officially Al Ahly have made a statement.

“He is not a free player or free agent and because he belongs to a club that we have huge respect for, so it is very difficult to comment.

“But if you want to ask me, the person, I think you know [my opinion]. But I would refrain from talking about Percy because he belongs to another club.”
