During an interview with Marawa Sports Worldwide, Mokwena shed light on what led to his frustration, saying his reaction was towards Zakhele Lepasa who clapped for Xoki.

Mokwena believes Lepasa was encouraging the “unsporting aggression” and he also revealed that he spoke with Erasmus to end the matter.

“Kermit sent me the message and we exchanged texts and I think it ended right there,” Mokwena said in the Marawa Sports Worldwide.

“What I will say about it is when I look at the sequence of events, I look at him scoring a fantastic goal against us in Polokwane, but I look at the celebration at how borderline it was in terms of lacking respect towards Sundowns and maybe going towards our supporters.

“I then listen to some of the interviews that he’s done and some of things he’s mentioned which were completely incorrect and maybe in borderline disrespectful towards not just the club, the fans but also the Motsepe family for what the club has done for him.

“And then the event on the touchline, one, it was a tackle that was made on someone [Haashim Domingo] who I thought was a very close friend of his while they were teammates.

‘ZAKHELE LEPASA APOLOGISED’

“Haashim Domingo and Kermit, for me while they were together in the squad, they looked quite close to each other and my reaction to the tackle was not actually even to the tackle, but was towards Zakhele Lepasa who started clapping towards Xoki as if to encourage that type of behaviour.

“Funny enough, Zakhele Lepasa after the match came to me and said coach I apologise because I am a victim of a career threatening injury.

“Kermit then remonstrated and said things towards me I felt I did not deserve especially from Kermit particularly with what we have been through.

“But we spoke about it and I said to him I wish you love and light.”
