Mokwena said this after his side grabbed a late 1-0 win over AmaZulu in the DStv Premiership on Sunday at Loftus Versfeld.

The match offered a titanic battle in midfield throughout the 90 minutes with the home side snatching maximum points in stoppage time courtesy of their new signing Marcelo Allende.

Despite struggling to rattle the back of the net early in the match, Mokwena says they are not concerned by that as long as they eventually score a goal before the final whistle.

MOKWENA: ‘WE’VE GOT A GOAL’

“Well it’s a bit difficult because, I say to you all the time, there’s only one team that’s prepared to play,” Mokwena said on SuperSport TV.

“AmaZulu all the times that they have played, they have played 4-3-3 with three strikers on top and today they played only with one, with Gaba [Gabadinho Mhango] and with [Dumisani] Zuma a little bit closer.

“And a five-man defensive line. We have the responsibility sometimes to make sure we are a little bit aggressive, we had the first big chance in the first half with Mshishi [Themba Zwane]. He did everything right, he could have scored and if you don’t score that one, then the game keeps on going and that’s very difficult.

“But congratulations to our boys and that also sends a message to all the opponents that we’ve got a goal, it doesn’t matter how long it takes for us to score but we’ve got a goal.

“Even in the 95th, 96th, 97th minute we’ve got a goal, so congratulations to the players for a very good mentality.”
