REVEALED: When new Kaizer Chiefs trio will start training with the squad

The new Kaizer Chiefs era has now all but began as the club ramp up their on the field preparations for the new season.

The new Kaizer Chiefs era has now all but began as the club ramp up their on the field preparations for the new season.

Chiefs have been making moves in the transfer window, having made seven signings so far during this transfer window. 

Chiefs signing spree

On Tuesday evening Chiefs announced six of those signings in Dillon Solomons, Kamohelo Mahlatsi, George Matlou, Siyethemba Sithebe, Zitha Kwinika, and Ashley du Preez. The club were not done there, however, as they would also announce the highly anticipated deal of former Sekhukhune United midfielder Yusuf Maart

The changes at Chiefs haven’t only come in the shape of the seven in comings thus far, but there have been a whole raft of outgoings too. On Tuesday the club continued their playing exodus by announcing that veteran defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya would be leaving the club. Mphahlele had started receiving regular game time as well as the captain’s armband towards the end of his career at the club. The former Bafana Bafana International had also started showing some good form, that had many thinking that there could still be a future for him at the club during its transition. 

Three already training with the club

Having recently been filmed back in training, the Chiefs faithful would have been filled with excitement when they saw three of their new signings with their new teammates. The likes of former Stellenbosch FC duo du Preez and Kwinika as well as former AmaZulu man Sithebe were pictured training at Naturena. The players that were not visible in the video were Mahlatsi, Matlou and Solomons, who this website had already eluded to them being given extra time off, following their role in helping Swallows survive the PSL Promotion/ Relegation playoffs.

Now according to Soccer-Laduma the trio have, indeed, been given time off until the 2nd of July. The publication also goes on to say that another fellow new signing in Maart started training with the side on Thursday.
