A dominant opening half saw Orlando Pirates go into half-time with a 2-0 lead over Cape Town City in their DStv Premiership clash at the Orlando Stadium on Tuesday, 9 February.

And that’s the way the scoreline stayed until the final whistle.

The Buccaneers opened the scoring in the first minute of the match when Deon Hotto raced onto a through ball into the area and scored with a composed finish.

The second goal arrived in the fifth minute when Vincent Pule tapped in a low cross from the left-side of the area by Thembinkosi Lorch as the Citizens failed to keep their defensive shape intact.

The three points moved Orlando Pirates into fourth place in the standings, while Cape Town City remained sixth.

ORLANDO PIRATES NEXT PLAY IN THE CAF CONFEDERATIONS CUP

Orlando Pirates will next be in action in the first leg of their CAF Confederations Cup match against Botswana side Jwaneng Galaxy on Sunday, 14 February at 15:00.

Cape Town City, meanwhile, will play SuperSport United in the DStv Premiership on Saturday, 13 February at 17:00.

In the DStv Premiership’s only other match on Tuesday, Golden Arrows beat SuperSport United 2-1.
