Orlando Pirates have reportedly been chasing AmaZulu goalkeeper Siyabonga Mbatha but a deal appears unlikely in the near future.

The Sea Robbers are desperate to revamp their goalkeeping stocks with Wayne Sandilands set to transition into coaching at the end of the season.

Mbatha had been earmarked as a priorit transfer but it seems that Amazulu are unwilling to do business with Orlando Pirates at this stage.

After their attempts to snatch Gaston Sirino from Chloorkop came up short it seems the Egyptian giants are now chasing after Namibia striker Peter Shalulile.

Shalulile did little work with Pitso Mosimane before the coach moved to Egypt but this little nugget is the latest of the transfer rumours to emerge from Cairo.

According to KingFut, last season’s PSL topscorer has been identified as a potential remedy the goal-scoring crisis at the Egyptian club.

Former Bidvest Wits stopper Darren Keet has denied that Kaizer Chiefs have approached him.

Keet issued a call to PSL clubs to sign him after a move to the United States fell through but he has had no takers as yet and continues to train with Cape Umoya United.

“I haven’t spoken to anyone. The only person I have spoken to was Lee Baxter (Kaizer Chiefs’ goalkeeper coach). I mean, obviously, we speak on a regular basis because of Bafana and things like that,” Keet told Soccer Laduma.

“So, we haven’t had much mention about Chiefs interest or (about) any other team. So, we’re kind of just having to wait and see. Our first choice was ideally to go overseas as things were the plan. But you know, things always change in football when you have to be open to everything. So, we’ve said we have to stay open. We will never close the door. And you never know until teams actually approach us. Anything could be available, anything could be news, anything could be a rumour. So, we don’t really know. We haven’t really spoken to anyone yet about joining a team long-term. For now, my focus will be Cape United,” he said.

Usuthu to make decision on veteran

According to reports former Kaizer Chiefs defender Tsepo Masilela is set to be released b Amazulu at the end of the season.

The former international has been a bit part player at Usuthu as they have surged up the table this season but the club seem to have quickly outgrown the veteran.

Amazulu are due for a revamp at the end of the season as they seek to establish themselves in the PSL’s top four.
