DStv Premiership side TS Galaxy have bolstered their squad with the signing of Cape Town City FC midfielder Shane Roberts.

Roberts becomes the Rockets’ second signing for the January transfer window after they snapped up former Maritzburg United attacker Lefa Hlongwane on Saturday.
The 23-year-old Roberts has made just five substitute appearances at Cape Town City this season and has been given the chance to gain experience at struggling TS Galaxy.

Roberts made his debut for the Citizens as a teenager in 2018 and has 43 appearances and two goals since then. Of those, only 13 have been starts.
He has joined on a six-month loan deal.

“I’m excited to join TS Galaxy FC. This is a new chapter for me in my career. I want to help the club improve its league position. I aim to assist the club progress and growing using my qualities. We have to get the club to where it belongs,” Roberts said in a statement releaased by the club.
“This is a new challenge and I’m ready to embrace it. For me, it is the new province and climate. I’m here to express new things with the club. I’m happy to be where I am right now. I’m looking forward to spending my time with the Rockets and I’m here to stay.”
TS Galaxy are last in the DStv Premiership log
TS Galaxy are currently bottom of the DStv Premiership standings with just 13 points after 17 matches.
They have won three, lost 10 and drawn four matches to date.
They will next be in league action away to AmaZulu on Wednesday, 16 February at 17:00.
