Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane has found himself in hot water this week, after clashing with Amazulu FC’s head of security during their game on Sunday.

The match finished 3-3, but it was towards the end of the game where trouble flared up. An almighty scuffle ensued when Nathi Ngwenya forcefully dragged two Masandawana fans off of the pitch. Arguments developed between the two benches, and Ngwenya accused Mosimane of getting physical.

“Security guard Nathi Ngwenya of Ngwelela Protection Services, a defence company with AmaZulu FC, has opened a case. He indicated that the coach had struck him in the face after the match.”

Pitso Mosimane accused of throwing punches

However, speaking to Kick Off, Pitso denies that there were any punches thrown from his side. He lamented the security personnel’s treatment of the supporters, questioning why such a big deal was made over it:

“There were no punches. I think you are trying to make a scene. I mean, where were punches?

“Our two supporters got onto the pitch, so what do you do, you usher them out. You don’t drag them like they are criminals, hey. And they’re not even resisting to go out. So this thing of showing off like you can drag somebody out of the pitch it must end. Just usher them out.”

“There’s so many times our supporters have been on the pitch and I take them off the pitch myself, so many times. I don’t know if you have seen that. Take them properly, they are human beings, hey.”

What happened at the end of AmaZulu vs Sundowns?

After the match in KwaZulu-Natal, both Pitson and Ngwenya were taken to the police station to make statements, before the security official made his grievances official and pressed charges. Mamelodi Sundowns are yet to comment on the matter.
