PSL result: Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 Black Leopards – as it happened!

Kaizer Chiefs are in Durban for their first home game of the season, as they square off against Black Leopards at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Kaizer Chiefs are looking for two wins in as many matches as they host Black Leopards at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday night.

A win for the Glamour Boys will give them temporary residence at the top of the PSL standings at the very least, something that has become unfamiliar territory over the past month.

They are up against a side desperate for a victory, after going down to Polokwane City at home in their season opener.

The result was the opposite of what was achieved by Kaizer Chiefs, who came away with all three points on their visit to Highlands Park on Sunday.

Ernst Middendorp’s men put together a spirited second half performance to register a 3-2 victory, with Lebogang Manyama bagging a brace before Erick Mathoho provided the winner.

They did so without a few key players, most notably Khama Billiat and Leonardo Castro, who had both picked up knocks in the lead-up to the game.

While the Colombian striker is back and available for selection, his Zimbabwean teammate is still out with an injury that has seen him remain in Johannesburg while the rest of the team travelled to Durban.

Also on the mend is goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, who is expected back in the coming weeks.

This means that Bafana shot-stopper Bruce Bvuma will, in all likelihood, get another start, while Castro could very well take up a spot up front in place of veteran forward Bernard Parker.

Another possible change could see George Maluleka start in the centre of the midfield in place of Kearyn Baccus, who made his Chiefs debut last Sunday.

The two other debutants from the previous outing, Lazarous Kambole and Samir Nurkovic are both expected to retain their spots in the starting XI.
