Orlando Pirates have a lucky charm

Pirates scored two stoppage time goals at the weekend to secure all three points against Golden Arrows. The first of those strikes arrived through 28-year-old Zimbabwean striker Terrence Dzvukamanja. He’s been on the fringes this season, making just two PSL appearances all campaign, but he made a telling contribution on Saturday when he broke the deadlock in added time.

Dzvukamanja has been on the winning side each and every time he’s found the back of the net in a DStv Premiership match. That’s some record.

It could be a turning point for Pirates, who needed a win at any cost, and by any means necessary. The performance wasn’t their best by any stretch. In fact, they arguably played better in the defeat to Cape Town City. However, Pirates got the three points and they’ll be grateful to Dzvukamanja for helping them get there.
