Polokwane City seek to bounce back from a derby defeat which left them in a perilous position when they host Golden Arrows on Sunday.

Rise and Shine’s 1-0 defeat to Baroka means they sit bottom of the Premiership table heading into the new gameweek.

Clinton Larsen’s men searched for an equaliser throughout the closing stages of the game, but were repeatedly denied by a spectacular Elvis Chipezeze.

Next up is an Arrows side buoyed by a 1-0 victory over Baroka in their last game which ended a four-match losing streak.

What adds spice to that fixture is that Larsen once sat in the Arrows hotseat currently occupied by Steve Komphela, who has only respect for his predecessor.

“I believe Clinton Larsen deserves credit for his job in the last three seasons. He left a good structure and we appreciate that,” Komphela was quoted as saying by KickOff.

“Sometimes coaches leave the club in a dustbin, which makes it hard for a new coach to save the club in time.”

There will be no time for sentiment on the field of play as Larsen looks to mastermind Polokwane’s escape from the drop zone while Komphela seeks a top eight spot, which he and Arrows missed out on last season.
