Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly close to seeing a new coach walking through the doors as early as next month.

The problem is, Chiefs will be seeing a fifth new coach walking through the Naturena doors in as many seasons.

Chiefs need major changes

Last season was also one that the club would like to delete from their history books, as soon as possible. Chiefs finished the season in 10th position, the worst in their history! Furthermore, it has seen the club extend its infamous trophy drought to nine-years. They will have one less trophy to play for in the coming campaign, as well, having missed out on the MTN8

All of these factors and more, mean that something has to change, both drastically and expeditiously! The first port of call seems to be with a new coach. Chiefs know that it cannot be just any coach, but a high profile individual that can instantly lift the spirit and confidence of the dressing room. One that exudes belief in the players and the club as a whole. This is an individual that not only has a track record of winning trophies, but a presences that makes the players respect and fear him, in a good way.

One such individual who ticks all of those boxes is Pitso Mosimane. South Africa’s most decorated mentor has often been labelled the favourite for the Chiefs job. But like the true professional he is, he was measured when speaking about the situation at the club, removing himself from the equation.

Mosimane speakis on the situation

“Everywhere I go, everybody would ask me. But I’m a professional. I will not use that to put Kaizer Chiefs under stress over these things. It is not fair, because we don’t know what is happening, what are they thinking and what is their vision. Let’s give them a chance, They will show you the plan; I mean, they are working on it – they are a big club.”. Mosimane said as per FARPost

Although Mosimane’s name won’t go away, Chiefs are expected to announce Nasreddine Nabi as their new coach.
