The Cape Town-born player has now remembered how Pitso Mosimane created his move from Mthatha Bush Bucks to Sundowns.

The former Bafana Bafana star says he was on the verge of joining the Buccaneers, but a delay urged him to ask ‘Jingles’ to look elsewhere.

“I felt I needed to go and see what is happening in Johannesburg, so I then went to Pirates as per Bush Bucks’ demands,” Schoeman said via Kick Off.

“At Pirates, I met up with Pitso Mosimane, who was my agent, after he called me and told me about this company that he was working for following his return from Europe.

“I spent a week at Pirates and then asked Pitso if there was another team in Johannesburg that I could go to since it was taking too long at Pirates.

“I spoke to him about Sundowns and since he (Mosimane) could speak fluent Greek a week later I signed for Sundowns (who had Greek influence in their management at the time) with Ted Dumitru having seen me at Bush Bucks,” he added.
