More PSL action is on its way to you midweek as local sides renew their rivalries. Three fixtures are scheduled for Tuesday and the pick of them is surely the clash against unbeaten Orlando Pirates who will be home to Cape Town City FC.

It will be a home fixture with a difference for the Buccaneers as they will have to play away from their usual Orlando stadium and trek all the way to FNB stadium.  The Citizens meanwhile will be looking to bounce back after a shock 2-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs at home last Wednesday.

Another player who’s availability McCarthy will be sweating over is former West Ham teammate Victor Obinna. The Nigerian striker was a late signing for the Cape Town out and has work permit issues to sort out.

This was after being unbeaten in all competitions so far this season.

Cape Town City coach Benni McCarthy will be hoping to call upon the services of veteran midfielder Teko Modise who went down injured in the early stages of their home defeat. The presence of the stalwart will no doubt be a boost for the visitors as he has previously represented the Buccaneers.

Pirates will also be hoping to get back to winning ways after only managing a goalless draw in their previous fixture against log leaders Maritzburg United.

Head to head

With the visitors relatively new to the PSL the two sides have only met twice previously. Both games were played last season and both failed to produce a winner.

However it was Orlando Pirates who came out the happier of the two when they drew 2-2 in Cape Town in February this year. Cape Town City looked set for a win when Reeyad Norodien’s late strike earned Pirates a desperate point. Their only other fixture was played at the Orlando stadium and ended in a goalless draw.
