As has been reported for quite some time, Pirates are set for a shake-up to their goalkeeping ranks, with the plan for next season to ensure there is high-quality competition throughout their shot-stopper ranks.

As reported by SABC Sport last month, goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi, who has impressed for TS Galaxy this season and earned a Bafana call-up last November, is in line to make a blockbuster move to the Soweto giants.

Now, in other interesting news, Soccer Laduma reports that Richard Ofori and Pirates have now agreed terms on a long-term deal that could see the Ghanian keeper become one of the club’s best-paid players.

“The new deal is done,” a source commented, while revealing that a happy compromise was ultimately reached between all parties.

According to another recent article by Soccer Laduma, as Buthelezi prepares to arrive at the Buccaneers, shot stopper Siyabonga Mpontshane could be heading in the opposite direction to join TS Galaxy.

“It’s not a swap deal or something like that,” the publication quoted a source as saying. “The Melusi deal was done and completed, and this one is a separate one as it’s between the player and the club.”

Recently, reports have touched on the length of the contract for Buthelezi to join Pirates.

“Buthelezi is a top goalkeeper, I am happy for him and this move will also help him when it comes to Bafana Bafana. He signed three years with a two-year option to extend,” a close source confirmed to iDiski Times
