Last year, rumours did the rounds to suggest that both Chiefs and Pirates could be interested in Marumo Gallants wing Katlego Otladisa, with the 26-year-old certainly held in high regard.

Otladisa’s contract apparently only comes to an end in June 2024, but there is increasing talk that the Buccaneers could once again make a move to try and secure the services of the playmaker.

It’s been rumoured recently that Pirates are stepping up their pursuit, and could put a bid on the table to see if they could negotiate a transfer fee.

According to popular online source Unplayable, three other local clubs are hunting his signature, but Pirates are apparently leading the way.

With all this in mind, this is another interesting story to keep an eye on as Pirates look to strengthen their squad for next season.

According to SABC Sport, he is now set to enter into new contract talks after the season came to an end with more success in the Nedbank Cup.

“I will be entering into a discussion with the chairman. I did not want to be a distraction before the [Nedbank] cup final,” his agent Mike Makaab explained.  “My plan is to meet with the club and also discuss all of the players that we represent there – even those that are settled.”

Meanwhile, Pirates could apparently be interested in AmaZulu defender Riaan Hanamub.

“They have identified Hanamub as a possible transfer target because they need to strengthen their left side of defence,” a source was quoted by Phakaaathi.

The report further suggests that Pirates could even consider offering one of their players to sweeten the deal.
