A former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns star looks set to make his eagerly awaited DStv Premiership return.

According to the latest transfer gossip, DStv Premiership newcomers Magesi FC are in talks with Bafana international Andile Jali.

Jali has been without a club after parting ways with troubled DStv Premiership side Swallows late last year.

Now, the experienced former Pirates and Downs midfielder is reportedly deadlocked in negotiations with Magesi over a potential move to them in July.

Magesi secured direct promotion to the DStv Premiership after winning the Motsepe Foundation Championship. Clinton Larsen’s side will replace Cape Town Spurs in the top flight next season.

Magesi in talks with Pirates and Downs legend?

According to Rush Sports, Andile Jali and Magesi FC are deadlocked in negotiations over a potential move.

Jali will add valuable experience to the newly promoted side, something Clinton Larsen will desperately need next season!

The hard-tackling midfielder won the league on seven previous occasions. Five times with Mamelodi Sundowns and twice with Orlando Pirates.

In other news, an Orlando Pirates star is reportedly pushing for an exit at the club.

This comes following a massively underwhelming 2023/24 DStv Premiership campaign.

Speedy winger Monnapule Saleng ended the previous season as Orlando Pirates’ trump card.

The skilful Bafana Bafana international almost single-handedly guided the Buccaneers to two trophies.

His 15 goals and 11 assists also earned him the MTN 8 Last Man Standing and PSL Players’ Player of the Season awards.

Saleng to hand in transfer request at Bucs?

Saleng, however, has struggled to make Jose Riveiro’s starting eleven this season at Orlando Pirates.

Last season’s hero has managed just 16 starts for the Buccaneers this season. And now, reports suggest he’s pushing to leave the club next month!

“Out of favour Orlando Pirates midfielder Monnapule Saleng is set to submit a transfer request at the end of the season as he looks to get more game time somewhere else,” – a Citizen report read.

“I think the failed moves at the end of last season affected Monnapule somehow. He was never the same player after that,” an insider told the same publication.

“But he is over that right now and you can see whenever he comes in that he is more focused right now. But it looks like the coach wants to turn him into an impact player. And he is not happy with that hence he will ask Pirates to let him go and play somewhere else.”
