Peter Shalulile is all about coming out on top. It’s only his third season at Mamelodi Sundowns and he has just set another record after scoring against Sekhukhune United on Saturday.

Despite dominating the match, Masandawana drew 1-1 with Babina Noko in a match where Shalulile scored his 55th goal since joining the Tshwane giants in 2020.

SHALULILE TO BE A PENALTY TAKER FOR DOWNS THIS SEASON

The Namibian scored 23 league goals in the past season without converting one from the penalty spot, falling two goals short of Collins Mbesuma’s record of 25.

If he was the official team penalty taker, he no doubt would’ve broken that long-standing record.

The Namibian striker said the coaches have given him their blessing to take all penalties awarded to the team this campaign.

“Yes, definitely because I’ve been training penalties and they believe I can take all the penalties,” Shalulile told KickOff.

“So, for me moving forward it’s just to score every game, score every opportunity I get and hopefully break the record again.”
