The Namibia and Mamelodi Sundowns striker has started this season pretty much where he left off. That is, scoring goals. Lots of them. He’s bagged six goals in eight DStv Premiership outings already and is odds-on to be the most prolific goal-scorer in South Africa once more.

Why Peter Shalulile reminds us of Tammy Abraham

Peter Shalulile may not be the most technically gifted goal-getter you’ve ever seen, but his rangy running style and relentless work ethic in the channels are both priceless qualities. Shalulile isn’t as physically imposing as Roma’s Tammy Abraham, but he manages to get the better of defenders by smelling chances before they’ve anticipated the danger.

If you need a reminder of how he gave defenders nightmares throughout the 2021-22 DStv Premiership season, here it is. Just look at the sheer variety in the types of goals that he scores. He also likes the give-and-go, a preference that Tammy Abraham often shows as he always looks to combine with teammates.
