Tau nets twice as Al Ahly put one foot into CAF Champions League final

Percy Tau scored twice to help Al Ahly beat ES Setif 4-0 to put one foot into the final of the 2022 CAF Champions League on Saturday.

Tau was named in the starting line-up by Pitso Mosimane despite calls for the left-footer to be benched after some below-par performances.

However, Mosimane would now feel vindicated as Tau brought in an A-game in the first leg of the semi-finals which was played in Cairo.

TAU NETS A BRACE IN AL AHLY’S IMPRESSIVE WIN

Tau opened the scoring for Al Ahly in the first half as he connected with a cross played into the box to head his side into the lead.

Taher Mohamed then made it 2-0 with a fine finish in the second half before Mohamed Sherif put the game to bed with Al Ahly’s third in the 72nd minute.

There was still time for Tau to complete his brace, and he did just that with an easy tap-in from close range in the 90th minute.
