Bafana Bafana star explains Al Ahly move

“In most of the decisions, or rather in that decision process, most of the time I consider myself, I consider how I feel,” Percy Tau said at the time of his move.

“I know I will always have the support of South Africans and I know we a footballing nation. What is the point of me sitting when I am not playing? Everybody wants to see me play, I want to see myself play.”

I’m used to moving around – Percy Tau

“I have made such moves before. I went from Witbank Spurs to the academy of Mamelodi Sundowns when I was 17 years old. Later went back to Spurs on loan then got to Brighton.” CAF Champions League winner Percy Tau added.

“I went to Union Saint-Gilloise on loan, I went to Club Brugge, so it is part of my career to move around. So, someone feels ‘if you stay here, you will be OK’. But I feel at that moment you do not know what I am going through.”

At the time of posting, Pitso Mosimane’s side are 2-1 up against Ghazl El Mahallah after 80 minutes. Goals by Percy Tau and Magdi Afsha gave Al Ahly the lead before Abdel Yehia pulled one back for the hosts.
