Orlando Pirates: Zinnbauer OUT! Bucs fans to march to Orlando Stadium

The plot continues to thicken for Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer who’s clearly no longer welcome at the club.

The plot continues to thicken for Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer who’s clearly no longer welcome at the club.

A section of Pirates fans now plan to follow in the footsteps of arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs by marching to the club’s base in Orlando.

According to a poster circulating on social media, Pirates fans will be marching to Orlando Stadium to push for the removal of Zinnbauer.

The said march is planned for 5 June 2021 between 9AM and 1PM.

Zinnbauer arrived at Pirates in December 2019 as a relatively unknown mentor from Germany.

And in his first full season in charge, Pirates finished third and qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup.

Pirates weathered the storm and made it through to the group stages of the competition before qualifying for the quarter-finals.

However, they were humiliated by Raja Casablanca in the second leg, going down 5-1 on aggregate to walk away with R4.9 million in prize money.

Nonetheless, Pirates fans are not too pleased with Zinnbauer, and this despite him delivering the MTN8 trophy in December 2020.

His team selection and tactics have been subject to criticism from the majority of Pirates fans who feel the team could do better with a different coach given the quality of the squad at Zinnbauer’a disposal.
