Myeni played 144 matches for Bidvest Wits, 130 for Orlando Pirates and 10 for SuperSport United.

Speaking to Kickoff, Myeni said: “It’s because I love the game of football. I still play indoor soccer and tournaments as I love the game of football.”

Sifiso Myeni wants to turn to coaching at some point

Myeni added that he would be open to beginning his coaching career in the near future, but feels he still has a lot to offer on the pitch.

“If a team were interested in tapping into my knowledge as a coach I would be interested as football is what I know, he explained.

“I have not yet retired, I even sold my SAB club, as I needed a break from football and I was struggling in terms of paying players and sponsors.

“The guys that I sold the team to want me to help them in terms of coaching.

“That I haven’t retired people they know, I haven’t spoken to any team or any coaches asking for a trial, nothing.

“It’s no longer something that is stressing me or anything in a way though, if it happens it happens if it doesn’t it’s still okay with me.

“Look at Rooi Mahamutsa, he is turning 41 in October but he is doing well at TS Sporting.

“Overseas Cristiano Ronaldo is playing, let’s not force players to retire.”
