Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has revealed one of the reasons new signing Souaibou Marou is yet to make his debut.

Marou was signed during the January transfer window from Coton Sport, and expectations were that he would have already featured for Pirates.

However, this hasn’t been the case, and according to Ncikazi, language barrier is the reason Marou has been overlooked by the Pirates technical team.

Ncikazi said he had hoped for Marou to get a run against All Stars FC in the Nedbank Cup so as to see him in a competitive game but it wasn’t to be.

“If the language is different from ours it becomes an adaptation that we must overcome,” Ncikazi told reporters.
“But he is doing well and you can see he is a top player. He just has to adapt to how we play. I’m hoping the adaptation will happen soon.
“I had hoped and wished he could have had a chance today [against All Stars FC] but maybe he will have chances in the next games.”
