Orlando Pirates visit the high-flying Cape Town City this evening in a mouthwatering DStv Premiership clash at the Cape Town stadium.

Eric Tinker’s Citizens head into today’s clash full of confidence after booking their place in the MTN8 final courtesy of a thumping 4-0 win over Swallows on Wednesday night.

Orlando Pirates on the other hand enter this evening’s clash down on confidence after being torn apart by Mamelodi Sundowns in a league fixture last weekend.

Any real momentum made by Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids was brought to an abrupt halt by Mamelodi Sundowns meaning its back to square one for the Buccaneers this evening.

Ncikazi wary of City’s ‘speed’

“We are playing against a tough opponent, full of confidence after the result against Moroka Swallows,” Orlando Pirates co head coach Mandla Ncikazi told the club’s media department.

“They are very good on transitions, speed behind the defence. Look at all their goals that they have scored in their MTN8 semi-final against Swallows, the Ralani and Fagrie Lakay combination was a perfect example.

“If Orlando Pirates can just deal with that rush defence in our team, have the capacity that we’ve got successful transitions, do well on set place, the team will get to the result. The players are united, they’re well prepared. Let’s see what happens on Saturday. But I’m highly optimistic.”
