The score was goalless at half-time, but the opening half wasn’t without incident.

Bloemfontein Celtic finished the first half with 10 men after Ndumiso Mabena was shown a straight red card for a horrible studs-up challenge on Linda Mntambo.

In the 68th minute Orlando Pirates took advantage of their numerical superiority when Fortune Makaringe opened the scoring.

And that’s the way the score stayed until the final whistle.

With their win, Orlando Pirates moved up to third place in the log, with Bloemfontein Celtic remaining in 11th spot.
