Bloemfontein Celtic striker is set to be among signings set to be unveiled by Orlando Pirates, reports SowetanLive.

The Buccaneers have been linked with several players ahead of the July-August transfer window, with at least three players from the Free State outfit reportedly close to a move.

One of those is striker Tshegofatso Mabasa, who had a breakthrough season in the 2018/19 campaign.

The 22-year-old finished among the top goal scorers with nine league goals – equal with the Soweto giants leading marksman Thembinkosi Lorch.

According to an unnamed source quoted by SowetanLive, Mabasa has signed a three-year contract which will see him swap Bloemfontein for Johannesburg – a dream move for the youngster.

“The deal is sealed, it’s a three-year contract. I expect Pirates to announce him on Tuesday (22 June). It’s a dream comes true for the boy.

“You see Pirates have been following the boy’s development for the last two years. It’s not a panic buy for them. Mabasa himself is very excited because there are problems (financial) here (at Celtic), it’s a huge escape for the boy.”

The Buccaneers are expected to unveil a number of players, including Maritzburg United duo Siphesihle Ndlovu and Fortune Makaringe and Mabasa’s Celtic teammates Kabelo Dlamini and Bongani Sam.

The club is also said to have signed Chippa United defender Tebogo Tlolane and, while also seeing an exit of their own in Zimbabwe international Marshall Munetsi, who joined French Ligue One outfit Stade de Reims earlier in the week.
