Orlando Pirates have announced the signing of French goalkeeper Joris Delle, who last played for Dutch giants Feyenoord.

They unveiled the first addition to their playing personnel on Monday – in the form of the ex-youth international who joins on a three-year contract.

Who is Orlando Pirates new French keeper?

Delle began his career at FC Metz in France and was part of a national Under-21 squad which included the likes of World Cup winners Antoine Griezmann and Raphael Varane in 2012.

After close to a decade plying his trade in his home country, he moved to the Netherlands, and last turned out for Feyenoord, where he made just two appearances last season, playing as understudy to Dutch international keeper Kenneth Vermeer.

Delle joins the Buccaneers a week after the club released one of its first-team goalkeepers Jackson Mabokgwane, and will compete for the gloves with the likes of Wayne Sandilands and Brilliant Khuzwayo.

“Everyone at Orlando Pirates would like to welcome Joris Delle and wish him all the very best for his career on board the Buccaneers’ ship.”
