Orlando Pirates to devise a plan to stop three-man Kaizer Chiefs attack

Orlando Pirates interim co-coach Mandla Ncikazi has revealed they will have to devise a plan to stop Kaizer Chiefs‘ attacking front three.

The Buccaneers visit Amakhosi in the 101st Soweto Derby league match at FNB Stadium on Saturday with kick-off scheduled for 15:30.

Speaking to the media ahead of the match, Ncikazi admitted that Chiefs look dangerous in attack but said if Pirates were to look at individuals, they would find themselves in trouble.

Ncikazi, though, singled out Amakhosi’s attacking trio of Bernard Parker, Keagan Dolly and Khama Billiat as Pirates’ biggest threat ahead of the titanic clash.

“We have to devise a plan whether it works or not, we hope that it works,” Ncikazi told reporters.

“But when you look at Kaizer Chiefs and you look at individuals, you are going to lose the plot.

“Dolly is the best player but there are many more at Kaizer Chiefs such as Parker and Billiat,” he admitted.

“We have to look at them holistically as the attack. We will try and stop them from their strengths, adapt to whatever they are doing and try and impose our game,” continued Ncikazi.

“When we have the ball, try take care of the ball better because they can hurt you if you lose the ball carelessly, especially in areas where they want to win the ball.

“So, the plan, yes. I hope we have a good plan and that it works on matchday,” added Ncikazi.
