Orlando Pirates welcome arch rivals Mamelodi Sundowns to the Orlando Stadium for a crunch DStv Premiership match this afternoon.

The Brazilians are well ahead on the log standings and are in firm control of their league title defence.

Rhulani Mokwena’s side are a whopping 24 points ahead of Jose Riveiro’s side who sit in fourth position on the log standings.

In terms of recent meetings, the Buccaneers have managed to win just once in the last eight previous meetings.

Mamelodi Sundowns have won six out of the previous eight clashes with one match ending a rare stalemate.

Orlando Pirates latest injury and team news

The Buccaneers have welcomed both Thembinkosi Lorch and Olisa Ndah to full training. It remains to be seen whether Jose Riveiro will be brave enough to throw them into the deep-end.

Furthermore Miguel Timm was also spotted in full training. The Orlando Pirates midfielder missed his side’s previous two matches through injury.

Richard Ofori looks set to miss out once again through injury but Sipho Chaine seems to be finding his feet slowly but surely as Jose’s number one.

New signings Makhehleni Makhaula and Souaibou Marou could also make their debut for the club this afternoon!

There are no suspensions in the Bucs camp heading into today’s DStv Premiership clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
