Former Orlando Pirates striker Lyle Foster has left Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes for Belgian outfit Westerlo.

Former Orlando Pirates striker Lyle Foster has left Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes for Belgian outfit Westerlo.

The news of Foster was confirmed by Westerlo vice-president Hasan Cetinkaya, who said the deal has been completed for some time.

Cetinkaya said the Bafana Bafana hasn’t joined his new teammates as yet because of Covid-19 travel restrictions.

However, Cetinkaya expects Foster to arrive in Belgium next week and complete the move to Westerlo.

Foster’s move is expected to be a season-long loan deal, meaning he will return to Portugal at the end of the 2021-22 season.

“South African international Lyle Foster’s transfer has been completed for some time, but due to the travel restrictions surrounding Corona, he has not yet been able to join the group,” Cetinkaya told Gazet van Antwerpen.

“He is expected at the club next week. In principle, we are also sufficiently armed with Vetokele, Goure and Vaesen,” he said.

Foster, 20, has played for a number of clubs since leaving Pirates for Monaco in 2019, including Cercle Brügge in Belgium.
