Orlando Pirates are already planning for the next season, with both incomings and outgoings in focus.

Pirates made a number of signings during the off-season, as well as the January transfer window.

They signed  Melusi Buthelezi from TS Galaxy, Siphelo Baloni from All Stars FC and Katlego Otladisa from Marumo Gallants. They were joined by Karim Kimvuidi, Lesedi Kapinga and Patrick Maswanganyi. Then in January, Pirates added the duo of Thabiso Lebitso and Thalenthe Mbatha. In January, stalwart Thembinkosi Lorch and Bienvenu Eva Nga both left the club for Mamelodi Sundowns and Chippa United respectfully.

Those players are expected to be followed out of the exit door by a few more, in the coming window. The likes of Zakhele Lepasa, Souaibou Marou, Sandile Mthethwa, among those touted for an exit. Pirates have also been linked to a few incomings with one of their long-term targets being Riaan Hanamub. According to The Citizen the Buccaneers have finally got their man!

Pirates to make Hanamub signing soon?

“What I can tell you is that the deal to Pirates is as good as done. Pirates have been been monitoring him (Hanamub) and they have reached an agreement with AmaZulu because he has an option left on his contract. You can see this season that coach José plays Hotto at left-back and they are looking for someone who is also good in defence. Expect Pirates to make the announcement at the end of the season but they have signed him. What is great is that he also plays with Hotto at his national team so they have a good understanding.” Said the source to the publication.

Beat Chiefs to him?

During the January transfer window, rumours emerged that Hanamub was also targeted by arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs. But those links never seemed as solid as those to Pirates. Now according to these latest reports, he is destined to be a Buccaneer.
