Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Romeo Erasmus hasn’t yet become regular starter at the club. Why is that?

ICYMI: Predicted Kaizer Chiefs XI vs Richards Bay in the PSL

Romeo finding starts hard to come by at Orlando Pirates

Kermit Erasmus has clocked up just 11 DStv Premiership appearances this term, scoring once and providing four assists. He was an unused substitute in Pirates’ 1-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs. That will be cause for some concern for the player who will turn 33 in July. The form of 24-year-old Monnapule Saleng has seen him become the Buccaneers’ major goal threat, and Zimbabwean striker Terrence Dzvukamanja is in-form and enjoying a renaissance.

ICYMI: No offence, but Kaizer Chiefs can do a lot better than Andile Jali

Bucs sweep Swallows aside in clinical fashion

The Buccaneers were much too strong for Swallows on Friday night, winning 4-1 at Dobsonville Stadium in the original Soweto Derby. Monnapule Saleng, one of the candidates for this season’s player of the year award, bagged an impressive hat-trick. Kermit Erasmus made a cameo off the bench. It’s unlikely that the former Rennes, Feyenoord, Sundowns and SuperSport striker will start their next game. Pirates only produced four shots on target in the match, and they scored with all four of them. Talk about efficiency.

Mamelodi Sundowns: RIDICULOUS injury list, where is Andile Jali though?

If Erasmus doesn’t get a start against Venda in the Nedbank Cup round of 16, serious questions will be asked about where his long term future lies.
