Orlando Pirates to be represented at 2022 FIFA World Cup after Ghana win

Orlando Pirates are set to be represented at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar following Ghana’s progression on Tuesday night.

Orlando Pirates are set to be represented at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar following Ghana‘s progression on Tuesday night.

Goalkeeper Richard Ofori could be on the flight to Qatar provided he’s selected in the final 23-man that would represent Ghana at the finals.

And that’s because Ghana are through to the finals as one of five African countries to fly the flag in Qatar.

The Black Stars played to a 1-1 draw against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the return leg of the FIFA World Cup play-offs.

Ghana advanced on the away goal-rule as they didn’t concede at home to the same opponent in Friday’s first leg match.

ORLANDO PIRATES ‘KEEPER OFORI COULD BE AT THE FIFA WORLD CUP IN QATAR

While Ofori was on the bench against Nigeria, chances are that he will be in Qatar later this year as his teammates did enough to qualify for the global tournament.

Thomas Partey opened the scoring for Ghana in the 10th minute but Nigeria drew level through William Troost-Ekong who thumped his spot-kick into the back of the net in the 22nd minute.
