Pirates to sign versatile Ghanaian star from Europe?

It turns out Orlando Pirates might not be finished shopping in this window. A Ghanaian defender-cum-midfielder is linked with Bucs.

Will Orlando Pirates complete a seventh signing? Reports says a Finish club is keen on signing a Ghanaian that is linked with the Sea Robbers.

ORLANDO PIRATES TO SIGN GHANAIAN PLAYER?

According to this report, FC Honka are willing to sell Edmund Arko-Mensah who is keen on trying a new challenge elsewhere.

Arko-Mensah would be the third Ghanaian at Bucs after Richard Ofori and Kwame Peprah.

“Ghanaian midfielder Edmund Arko-Mensah has been linked to Orlando Pirates and news reaching the Siya crew is that the player’s current employers are willing to sell the player,” Soccer Laduma reported in their latest edition.

“…The player’s handlers are keen on bringing him to the PSL, with his versatility being a plus knowing that he can play can either in central midfield, left-wing and in defence.

“As reported by the Siya crew, they are looking at offering the 20-year-old to Bucs under their new head coach, Jose Riveiro, who knows him from his time in Finland,” the report added.

Meanwhile, the PSL has extended the current transfer window to close on 22 September, leaving Bucs with plenty of time to decide on Arko-Mensah.

PIRATES POST NEW KITS

As The South African website reported on Tuesday, the mighty Sea Robbers presented their new home and away kits via social media.

The new designs come in the traditional home black top while the new away kit is white with delightful tones of grey. Read the full story here.

Meanwhile, Jose Riveiro’s men will start the new season at home to Swallows FC on Saturday 6 August.

The game will kick-off at 15:00 from the Orlando Stadium.
