A former Orlando Pirates star believes making mistakes in the Soweto derby ends your career as a Buccaneer.

Former Orlando Pirates defender Innocent Mdledle has warned players about the Soweto derby. The former Bafana Bafana star has said mistakes are fatal to one’s future.

The latest Soweto derby is back on Saturday. Kaizer Chiefs, fresh from a 3-2 defeat against Golden Arrows, welcoming an Orlando Pirates team that is buzzying after four straight wins.

AVOID MISTAKES SAYS INNOCENT MDLEDLE
According to the club’s former left-back, making mistakes in the Soweto derby destroys a player’s career at Pirates, with Thulani Hlatshwayo being the most recent example.
“There’s this boy Thulani Hlatshwayo, ubulawa yi derby [he was done by the derby],” the former Buccaneer from Matatiele said on TK Solutions TV.
“You make a mistake in the derby; you are gone.
“The derby finished him. He is a very good player, but the derby is not the ocassion to make mistakes. Did [Siyabonga] Mpontshane come back after the derby? He was gone. You don’t make mistakes in the derby as a Pirates player.
“Even at Chiefs, you make a mistake in the derby, you are gone,”Mdledle.
