Question to Orlando Pirates fans: Do you recall the last time you saw Thulani ‘Tyson’ Hlatshwayo in a Bucs shirt? Rumours say he does not deserve to be outlined.

WHAT’S HAPPENING WITH ORLANDO PIRATES STAR THULANI HLATSHWAYO?

The last time ‘Tyson’ had a game for the Buccaneers was back in August 2021 in a CAF Confederations Cup game. It’s hard to believe it’s been seven months.

So what is happening?

According to a report in Soccer Laduma’s latest issue, the former Ajax Cape Town star may have lost form before losing his place, but he has since done enough to regain selection.

It is said that the Orlando Pirates central defender trains harder and commits to his job more than many of his peers.

Yet he has continued to stay far away from the bench.

“According to insiders, the 32-year-old is putting in the hard work in the training field, with the sources revealing that he is a top professional, and stands out above some of his teammates in training,” the report said.

“One insider explained that Hlatshwayo’s exclusion is surprising considering his form at training and suggested that there could be a discord between the player and the technical staff.”

“The one source confirmed that the former Bafana Bafana captain is willing to bide his time and work hard while waiting for his chance.”

BUCCANEERS TARGET LATEST GOLDEN ARROWS HOT STAR

According to Soccer Laduma’s newest report, the Buccaneers have an idea to offer their loan player Mthokozisi Dube in order to sign Sibisi.

“Orlando Pirates could use Mthokozisi Dube as leverage in order to secure Nkosinathi Sibisi’s signature,” Soccer Laduma’s Wednesday 9 March newspaper reported.

As it was confirmed at the start of the season, Orlando Pirates surprisingly sent Dube back to Golden Arrows for a second loan stay.

“It is unclear if the proposed deal would be a straight swap or swap plus cash deal.”

“Sibisi is a priority for the Buccaneers in the next transfer window as they look to bolster their defence,” the report added. Read the full story here.

Meanwhile, as with most Orlando Pirates players, Tyson’s contract length at Bucs is somewhat kept as inside information that is only known by the 32-year-old Soweto-born player and his agent.
