KERMIT ERASMUS RETURNS TO ORLANDO PIRATES

As The South African reported in the final hours of September’s deadline, the 32-year-old from Gqeberha left Mamelodi Sundowns to become a Sea Robber again.

The return has been as good as two goals and three assists in seven games, including an MTN8 title.

DID MAMELODI SUNDOWNS COACHES NOT BELIEVE IN ERASMUS?

During an emotional chat with Robert Marawa this week, the SuperSport United development product said he has overcome the pain of working with ‘people that doubted him.’

Tracking his recent clubs, Erasmus was playing regularly at Cape Town City before he was nearly forgotten as he spent nearly two seasons on the Sundowns bench.

“I cannot control that. Like I said, I focus on things I have control over. For me, it’s on the field. I know what I can do… I believe in myself and what I’m capable of and I don’t let anybody tell me otherwise.

“I thrive off things like this. When people doubt you, it’s part of life,” Erasmus added with a heavy pang of emotion in his voice.

“That’s how you get through things, if you believe in yourself…”

“People know me because of football but I’ve got other interests as well, I am human.”
