Looking at Pirates’ exiting number 8s such as Goodman Mosele and Fortune Makaringe, and the 10s like Thembinkosi Lorch and Kabelo Dlamini, all of these players just enjoy way too many passing and overplaying in the final phase.

The team needs fully direct players in the 8 and 10 positions. You know the player who picks up the ball to bomb for the goal with a shot or a run? Yes. This is what Bucs need.

Right now there are way too many ball-players who do not have enough goals in them or direct play to attack goalkeepers. If you look at Lorch, Dlamini, Mosele and Makaringe, they turn back or sideways way too much.

The last time Bucs had direct midfielders was with the likes of Isaac Chansa, Daine Klate (wide), Dove Wome (10), and Kermit Erasmus as a 10 instead of a nine.
