ORLANDO PIRATES SIGN MIGUEL TIMM

As The South African website reported during pre-season, the Sea Robbers signed the 30-year-old central midfielder from Marumo Gallants.

Timm, who is rather well traveled, is no stranger to the Johannesburg bright lights.

He began his PSL career at Bidvest Wits, moved to Mpumalanga Black Aces, then had a stint in the United States before returning to join Maritzburg United where he was fine-tuned by the demanding Ernst Middendorp.

TIMM CONFIRMS HIS QUALITIES

According to the Durban-born player, his move to the Sea Robbers has essentially been a fine example of preparation meets opportunity.

“I understand that this is a big club, one of the bigger club’s I’ve played for but over the years I’ve gained experience and understanding of what winning is all about,” he told Pirates TV, as quoted by the Sowetan.

“It obviously means more now because there’s a bigger following and there’s also a bigger history with this club and instead of saying Ibheji liyasinda (the badge is heavy), we can use that as motivation to give us that extra push to compete in all the competitions in the upcoming season.“

The jersey number 4 concluded by stating his desire to make a name as legendary as Happy Jele.

“I’d like to be remembered the same way Magents [Jele] is remembered, the perfect example. A born leader, lots of titles and I think he set the benchmark high for us as individuals and as a team,” Timm concluded.
